The “Experimental New Musics” night at the UAG was fucking amazing. Great performances from everyone. I apologized for going on a little too long (35 minutes!?), but hey.. I kind of got zoned out. Thanks to Beth for joining me in what was regarded as “desintegrating dub”.

lots of good pictures can be found here:

and here’s a few goodies of our set from Samantha Brie:

This Sunday I’ll be joining Asa Morris at the UAG to help him perform a couple of his songs. We’ll be playing under the name Black Andy. Expect some new tunes very soon. Also performing is Grab Ass Cowboys plus two touring bands, Aseethe and Shores of the Tundra.

It’s a new year! 2008 was seriously the worst year of my life, so I step into ’09 with open arms. For 2009 you should expect: Lots of shows, a new band (or two), new members of Ghoul, a new sound for Ghoul, new music videos (maybe a DVD), Dog Buys Pistol LP on Sub-Bombin’ Records and lots of EP’s!

It’s been a minute! Hope everyone out there had some wonderful holidaZzze. I got a few new toys I’ll be debuting at the next couple of shows!

Well the Proctors Sensory Overload show on December 19th was ruined of course by the first giant snowstorm of the year. Only bands to attend were Grab Ass Cowboys and Bad Costume. I was seriously fucking bummed about this.. but the possibility of a rematch at Proctors is very high!

check out Bad Costume rocking away:

I played a show at Hotshots on 12/22 with Pete Pluto and Firefighter Font. Very awesome show, check out some pics courtesy of Samantha Brie:

got some upcoming shows.. The 17th at Kings Tavern with my noise band If Yes, Then No.. joining us so far is Bad Costume. Also Andrew Hassenger asked me if I’d play a festival he’s throwing at The Art Center in Saratoga Springs on May 30th. It’s going to be a 10 hour festival showcasing solo musicians in the capitol district area. Sounds exciting!

Working on a new EP.. all new material..

12 hours of drone

November 14, 2008

On November 22nd, the good folks at the Upstate Artists Guild are about to do some iLLy shit! “A RIVER OF DRONE”, presented by the Albany Sonic Arts Collective will showcase some of the areas noise musicians attempting to perform a continuous 12 hour live drone performance. The show runs from 12pm-12am and will be a good one for sure. Musicians include Eric Hardiman, Ray Hare, Holland Hopson, Jason Cosco, Michael T. Bullock, Linda Aubry Bullock and hopefully yours truly! Regardless I’ll be in the house in awe.

The day before Halloween I went and checked out Lee Ranaldo and Leah Singer’s collaborative performance/installation “Space within these lines not dedicated” at Hudson Valley Community College. Lee ran from various rooms, swinging one guitar from a rope and just messing around on another, creating a full on sonic assault while Leah projected what appeared to be footage of a crowd in Japan. To top it off I got to meet Lee and told him I wanted to father his babies.

Still no official shows lined up for me to finished out 2008 (aside from a private house party on November 21st with Audibel and Tone Pony, and hopefully the River of Drone performance). I’d like to maybe get a show together around my birthday.. we’ll see about that.

After hearing a couple songs on the radio, being like HOLY SHITTT and finding out it was a band called Beach House, I finally checked out their two LP’s. Pfffft, so good. I don’t really know about I feel about the new Gang Gang Dance record.. gotta spin it a few more times before I decide.
